BeeJay Bakau Resort

It is located in the center of probolinggo. The place is beautiful. It is a good place for those who like taking pictures It is also a good place to have exercise, walking among the mangrove forest. This place is just relaxing and can also be romantic You can enjoy the ocean view, mangroves, and the sea breeze. The entrance ticket is quite cheap. There is a new attraction there that is a giant horse statue and to go there you need to pay more (multiple entrance ticket ) but it's worth it I think. They also have like hotels if you wanna stay there. So if you visit probolinggo, dont forget to come to bjbr

Slightly annoying access to the hotel/resort by road because you go through a road toll 50m before the turning into the resort. The next booth you come to wants IDR30k per person because you are being charged for day use of facilities which is included if you are a hotel/resident guest. I think the hotel management could do a bit more to join up the dots of service provision. The hotel setting for rooms, restaurant and grounds (elevated walkways over the coast) is very scenic and pleasant. Worth at least a weekend stay. The hotel also offers sea based activities and you have access to a large outdoor pool and bar during the day.

Edit 2022 2nd visit: After my last critic, BJBR has improved very much better. AC was on when I arrived and it was cold enough. Everything was much cleaner and way more satisfying than my last visit. So happy that the management has improved. Can't wait to go there again. 2022: Really dissapointed after 3 years ago I reviewed really good. Management must take action soon. Condition of hotel, restaurant must be cleaned. AC in the room was last cleaned at 2019, over 3 years ago. Reception behavior must be reviewed. They called at 600 in the morning just to tell that breakfast is not until 10.00 but just until 9.00. The call waked my baby boy and disturbed our rest in our holiday. Water pressure in room sometimes is not acceptable. Shower was just dripping water, not usable. But maybe when the other room is not using water the pressure is enough. Because at the afternoon shower was just dripping water, at night water pressure is good. The restaurat was really in need of cleaning. Maybe because there was only 2 staff that I saw there that it could not keep up. But still, really management must take action. I put up some pictures of the restaurant. But to be fair, I must say that the food of the restaurant is really good. My wife really loved the crabs with padang sauce. Hope the resort will be much better soon, because we love the place so much, we've been here since the start of BJBR. 2019:One of the great places to stay by the sea and have an opportunity to fish right at your patio! Even though we only got little fishes, it was a really great experience! Room is nice, may need a little upgrade, there was 2 AC, but 1 was not working, and the other one should have been cleaned, because there was thick dust at the air intake, however it was still ok. Bathroom needs a little bit attention, maybe it is getting a little old. Food was delicious, my wife really enjoyed the Crab with Padang sauce. It also has a theme park which is quite nice. Overall I still think it is a great place for vacation, definitely will come back again!

Loving the view.. Staff were helpful and friendly enough. Great view. I booked the 3BR bungalo, and its a good decision if you go with family. Good room. Its so spacious. There was living room with smart tv and karaoke also a small pool with spacious terrace. The bungalows need major renovation. The structure wasnt safe enough. The stair weren't straight and looked like would fall anytime. Please do renovate the bungalows. Also please put extra attention for the maintenance of the facilities. It would be a waste if it is not well maintain. Food at resto is okay. But could be better. Fair price. Sadly the ambience wasnt good bcs of the edm music the played. It wasn't a match for the beautiful nature. Maybe some traditional instrumental would do good. Will be back for sure, if the renovation and annual maintain is done properly. sure the view and nature is so good. Full of serenity. Hope will gets better over time. I love it soooo much. The view is sooooo beautiful. And i recommended for you who want to go there, you better go when the night comes cause the lighting are so pretty. And there is also a playground. I felt like i'm back to my childhood. Also there is that globe 'statue' which remind you of universal studios.

Good resort in the middle of Mangroves. The room is good, spacious, nice atmosphere, reasonable rate. Good fecilitiesb (restaurant, souvenir shop, photo spot, board walk through the mangrove forest. Good for mangrove education.

Nice, beautiful, cozy place to go to get a rest and forget about your city life and your burdens for a while. Great place to take a photograph, great place to relax! There's also a bungalow/cottage for you to rent if you want to spend days in there.

First of all, I should say that my stay was pleasant eventhough some minor things can affect the experience. It was in the early of June, so I stayed during the end of the rainy season and the climate is agreable. The important goal of staying at this resort is the mangroves and the scenic view of the sea. I pick up a sea front room, which is a bit pricey at the weekend, but was offered a beautiful sunrise. Walking around the mangroves -in the morning- was also a pleasing moment. However some improvements are required to keep up this resort in its shape. After 2 years into the CoVid-19 pandemic, most facilities are molding. More attention is needed to repair & maintenance. Overall the experience is acceptable. I recommend the management to reconsider the pricing model of this resort and encourage improvements to the facility. It would be better to add eco-educational aspects to enrich the visits hereto.
